Welcome to another instalment of our employee spotlight series. This month’s spotlight is our Metal Finishing Manager, Nick. We asked Nick a series of questions to get to know him better.
How long have you worked at D&M, and what brought you here?
I have worked at D&M for six years. A job opportunity became available in the finishing department, and I had the opportunity to work with some old friends while expanding my metal finishing skills.
What does your job entail?
I manage the day-to-day stainless steel jobs, ensuring everything is completed on time and to a high standard. I apply different surface finishes to the stainless steel jobs that come through.
What do you like most about your job?
I like to be busy so my job is perfect for me as there’s always lots to do.
What is working at D&M like?
Days, weeks, and months fly by at D&M. It can be stressful to work here, but it is really rewarding. Having a good team of people around really helps a lot.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In the mirror as usual 😂
What was your very first job?
A paper round when I was 13 at our local corner shop.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy going to the gym and spending time with my family, usually doing fun days out for my daughter, Gracie.
Can you tell us a fun fact / fun story about yourself?
None I can share 🤣
What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?
At the moment, I’m watching Sylvester Stallone in Tulsa King And a Horror Show called From.
What’s one thing on your bucket list?
I’m visiting Iceland in January, so after that, the next item on my list will be to see the Pyramids of Giza.
