Welcome to another instalment of our employee spotlight series. This month’s spotlight is one of our fabricators, Dan. We asked Dan a series of questions to get to know him better.
How long have you worked at D&M, and what brought you here?
I have been at D&M for just over five years now. I worked at a different business just down the road from D&M, which was more agricultural and wrought iron work. I fancied a change from that, so I moved to D&M.
What does your job entail?
Fabricating and welding different sorts of steels together with a variation of thicknesses.
What do you like most about your job?
I really like the people I work with!
What is working at D&M like?
It’s a fast-paced workshop with a wide variety of work coming through the door. This can be quite stressful at times, but we work as a team and always manage to get through it.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I’m not sure what I am doing tomorrow, nevermind in 5 years!
What was your very first job?
I was a cleaner at Bedale Motor Factors.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I’ve just managed to get myself an allotment so I imagine I will be spending most of my free time there, working on that. I also really enjoy going to watch motor racing and rallying when I can.
What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?
I’m currently making my way through the Outer Banks series.
What’s one thing on your bucket list?
I’d love to go watch the Monte Carlo Rally or the Rally Legend.
