Welcome to another instalment of our employee spotlight series. This month’s spotlight is one of our Welders, Chris. We asked Chris a series of questions to get to know him better.
How long have you worked at D&M, and what brought you here?
I have worked at D&M for 7 years and 8 months, to be precise. Prior to that, I had been welding for 4 years and wanted an opportunity to gain more knowledge on the fabrication side of things.
What does your job entail?
My job involves various types of work. I do both TIG and MIG welding on a variety of materials and work on larger fabrication projects.
What do you like most about your job?
I really like the challenging projects we get into, the ones where I can really push myself to do things I haven’t done before or that challenge me in new ways. I find it really satisfying when I finish projects like that.
What is working at D&M like?
No two days are the same; there is always something different happening here.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
On a beach after winning the lottery.
What was your very first job?
I was kitchen staff at How Stean Gorge when I was 15.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Anything with an engine has my attention really. Going for walks.
I am an ex-car detailer, so I’m always washing or detailing a vehicle.
What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?
I am currently re-watching Taboo and waiting for the final season of You to air.
What’s one thing on your bucket list?
To spend Christmas and New Year in New York!
