Welcome to another instalment of our employee spotlight series. This month’s spotlight is our Laser Cutting and Production Coordinator, Ben. We asked Ben a series of questions to get to know him better.
How long have you worked at D&M, and what brought you here?
I came here at the start of D&M, way back in 2010. Having previously worked with Dave & Mike at a different fabrication company, I moved with them to D&M as they started the company.
What does your job entail?
I am a bit of an all-rounder. Over my time here, I have done everything D&M offers with regards to the workshop.
What do you like most about your job?
Keeping busy, it’s a fast-paced company. Every day is completely different here.
What is working at D&M like?
Interesting, in a good way. No two days are the same.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Running the place! (MD) haha
What was your very first job?
It was at the previous fabrication company. I started there at age 14, working Saturdays and school holidays to help.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Spending time with my family. Trying to get fit. Being a pit master.
What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?
I am listening to an audiobook – Johnny Sexton’s autobiography (he’s a rugby player).
What’s one thing on your bucket list?
I would love to go to Texas, visit all the BBQ joints there, and go ‘gator hunting.
