Employee Spotlight: Anthony, Workshop Assistant

Welcome to another instalment of our employee spotlight series. This month’s spotlight is on one of our workshop assistants, Anthony. We asked Anthony a series of questions to get to know him better.

How long have you worked at D&M, and what brought you here?

I have worked at D&M for seven years now. Claire, our finance manager, was the one who initially recommended I come and work at D&M.

What does your job entail?

My job is varied, but the main aspects are assembling products such as loft hatches for our clients and ordering parts such as locks and cams for assembly.

What do you like most about your job?

I really enjoy the satisfaction of getting the job finished on time. I also enjoy interacting with my other colleagues, especially when they assist me with the assembly process.

What is working at D&M like?

It can be a challenging job, but it is always enjoyable. My fellow colleagues are always helpful and friendly.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Retired!

What was your very first job?

My very first job was working for BT as an engineer.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

When I am not at D&M, you can find me either cycling or fly fishing.

Can you tell us a fun fact / fun story about yourself?

Unfortunately, none of which I can divulge.

What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?

I have recently finished reading ‘The Escape Artist’ a harrowing true story about two teenagers who escaped from Auschwitz to warn the world of the genocide being undertaken at the camp against the Jews.

What’s one thing on your bucket list?

To undertake a train journey across the USA.
