Welcome to another instalment of our employee spotlight series. This month’s spotlight is on Alex, our Press Department Manager. We asked Alex a series of questions to get to know him better.
How long have you worked at D&M, and what brought you here?
I have worked at D&M for about 7 years now; I researched the company online and then applied for a trainee press brake operator job.
What does your job entail?
Press Department Manager includes managing the folding department staff to optimise their contribution to the overall press department with particular emphasis on teamwork and training.
What do you like most about your job?
I enjoy my job having the privilege to work with some incredible people united around a common goal.
What is working at D&M like?
Working for D&M would be the way I would like my company to be run. It’s a close-knit group of staff who work hard and professionally. They welcome all new people from all walks of life and make them feel at home.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself continuing to develop my skills in my role and contributing to the great growth and success of D&M.
What was your very first job?
My first job was a manager on a pig farm.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy taking my kids to play football and going to the gym.
Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself?
I’m actually a certified artificial inseminator for cattle.
What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching or reading?
I’m currently binge-watching “1923” A Yellowstone Origin Story on Paramount+
What’s one thing on your bucket list?
To go bungee jumping off the Victoria Falls Bridge in Zimbabwe.
